Frederic Allen Bittner Scholarship Application

Purpose:

To provide scholarships to deserving current Thrall ISD seniors and/or previous Thrall ISD graduates with financial need.  All Thrall ISD seniors and graduates are encouraged to apply if enrolling full-time in higher education for the upcoming academic year.

Criteria to Apply:

  • The applicant must be a current Thrall High School Senior OR a previous year Thrall ISD graduate

  • The applicant must be enrolling full-time for the upcoming academic year at a college, a university, or a seminary located in the state of Texas

  • Applicant must demonstrate financial need

  • Applicant is eligible to reapply annually for the scholarship

  • Application and all supporting documentation must be submitted to the Thrall Community Education Foundation at info@thrallcef.org by April 20

  • Scholarship winner(s) will be notified prior to the May Thrall ISD Scholarship Banquet.  Winner(s) should make every effort to be present at the banquet to receive their scholarship certificate

  • Scholarship amounts will vary each year based on the annual investment returns of the fund, number of applicants, and number of scholarships awarded

  • Scholarship awards will be made payable to the academic institution and mailed directly to the school

Documents Required:

  • Completed application 

  • 2 Letters of recommendation

  • A complete high school transcript (current seniors or first-time college applicants) or most recent college transcript (current college students)

  • FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR) (if additional proof of income is needed applicant will be contacted directly)

  • Record of any community service hours
